This is a simple game of rolling the dice and markers while blurting out definitions. They will require some element of knowledge relating to definitions and the dictionary but this is by no means a complex game.
To begin the game, all players choose a marker and place it on the start and every player rolls the die in order to determine who goes first — the player who rolls the highest number goes first and becomes the reader. The reader rolls the die to determine the number of squares and the first player will move and choose the definition that is read. Once the reader reads out the definition other players can blurt out the answer. There is no penalty for wrong answers and that means that players can keep out blurting until the right answer is determined.
The player who gets the right answer gets to move the corresponding number of squares as rolled by the reader. The winning player is determined by the first player to move around the board and return to the start.
Since the game was released in , a couple of different editions have been released including an Educational Insights First Edition and a Junior Edition. Players found that the game is perfect for getting a few quick laughs due to the way in which it is simple to play and the way in which players can continue to shout out the answers causing an enjoyable kind of chaos.
However, some players thought that the game repetitive over time and that means that players lost interest. A great game for children to enjoy in both small or large groups.
Players attempt to be the first to move their pawn all the way around the board. Each turn a reader will read the actual definition to a word as found in a children's dictionary so they're simple.
If a pawn land on certain spaces or the same space as an opponent, a "one-on-one" contest is held just between those two players with the victor getting to stay on the spot and the loser having to move back to where the trailing player started. In Blurt! The orange and purple pawns are used only in Blurt Junior. Roll the die to determine the number of squares the first player to answer correctly will get to move, AND which Definition to read. Read only the top Definitions from the blue sides of the cards these generally define simpler words.
They should try hard to spell the word correctly, and should not let any of the other players see their paper. Home Games Blurt! Game Overview.
